Leslie P. Recht
|
Ms. Recht concentrates her practice in energy and real estate law and represents energy companies with gas, electric and water issues throughout Illinois and the Midwest. She has participated in rate, rulemaking and certificate proceedings before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, utility commissions in Illinois, Iowa and Minnesota and court appeals of those matters. She has negotiated utility contracts, litigated and advised utility clients on a variety of matters and is also responsible for certain general corporate and real estate matters.
Ms. Recht is a 1970 graduate of the University of Chicago, where she received her A.B. in Political Science and Urban Studies. She earned her J.D., with high honors, from IIT/Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1974, where she was a member of the law review. Ms. Recht was an Adjunct Professor teaching energy and environmental law at IIT/Chicago-Kent from 1991-1997. She is a member of the Energy Law and Telecommunications (formerly Public Utility Law) Committee of the Chicago Bar Association and is a former Chair of that committee. Prior to Ms. Recht's election as Vice President of the Midwest Chapter of the Energy Bar Association, she previously served as the President from 2005-2006 and as an officer of that Chapter from 2003-2008.
